Atopic eczema/atopy (= atopic dermatitis) is a chronic skin condition which is often accompanied by a strong itch. It can vary in its symptoms and locatisations depending on the age of the patient. The severity of the condition varies, and the majority of patients suffer from a less severe form of atopic eczema. Depending on the localisation and spread of the atopic eczema this can be a severe skin condition, which can significantly affect quality of life in the long term. More common complications include infections such as disseminated impetiginisation through various bacteria, viruses or fungi. Some patients also show sensitisation by aeroallergens and/or food allergens (in part in association with allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, allergic bronchial asthma or a clinically relevant food allergy). The treatment of atopic eczema and its complications requires qualified medical treatment which we are able to offer in our medical practice.

Psoriasis Psoriasis is a condition characterised by inflammation and flaky areas of the skin. Sufferers have a hereditary disposition and the condition manifests itself on the skin when further triggers occur, such as infection, skin damage, stress, alcohol or medication. In some cases the triggers cannot be identified. Psoriasis is not contagious and virtually never life threatening. All forms of the condition, however, can cause considerable discomfort and a significant restriction of the quality of life. Even though psoriasis is a chronic condition, our daily aim is to manage it with a tailored treatment plan based on the latest state of scientific knowledge to ensure that your quality of life is not affected. In addition to traditional local treatment we also use modern systemic therapies, for example with biologicals. The medical practice is a member of Psoriasis Praxisnetz Südwest e.V..
